Microstructural and texture analyses have been conducted on two gamma titanium aluminide (γTiAl) sheets produced via the melt overflow rapid solidification technique. For both alloy compositions relatively weak {101} γ type fiber textures (≤3 × random) were observed which are indicative of solidification from a prior α phase field with rapid growth parallel to the ({bar 1}) α direction.
