Aug 31, 2016· Interesting Question. The alkaline earth metals are six chemical elements in column (group) 2 of the Periodic table. They are beryllium (Be), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), barium (Ba), and radium (Ra).They have very similar properties: they are all shiny, silverywhite, somewhat reactive metals at standard temperature and pressure.

Xenotime, monazite and ion exchange ores were reacted with NaOH solution in the microautoclave under high temperature and pressure to produce a mixture of rare earth hydroxides. The decomposition reaction of phosphate ores such as xenotime and monazite required higher temperature and NaOH concentration than those for the decomposition of carbonatite ore, bastnaesite.
